Creating a Google Site
Google sites are a quick and easy way to put up a webpage for all to see. You may create a page available only to other medportal users (such as for an event signup), or create a page in general that all should have access to see (such as a personal home page for your medical studies). The page can also accept html code, and you can embed calendars, forms or documents right from your Google drive. No matter what you use it for, Google sites is a quick and easy way to accomplish this.
Here is a quick guide on how to get started creating your own site. From your medportal account, do the following:
- Click the "google drive" icon at the top of your page
- At the top of your screen, click on the grid and select "Sites" (Note: You can also access this link from your email or calendar)
- You will be brought to a list of your Google sites. Click "Create new site"
- Select the template you would like to use by clicking "Browse the gallery for more" or simply use the default template by clicking "Create site"
- It is recommended that you use a standard medportal template, as they have been styled to create a seamless user experience between regular medportal pages and user created Google sites.
