Embedding a Google Form into a Google Site
At some point, you may want to embed a Google Form into the site you have created in order to collect data from your audience. To do this, make sure you have completed the first two steps and created both a Google Form and a Google Site. Once you have done this, follow these steps to embed the form into the site.
NOTE: This method involves pasting and potentially manipulating html code. This step is not recommended for novice computer users.
- Open your Google Form by clicking the "google drive" icon within medportal and clicking the name of your Form
- In the menu above the toolbar, click the word "Form". It will have a number beside it in brackets. This is the number of submissions you have so far. It should read (0) at the start.
- Click "Embed form in a webpage..."
- An Embed window will appear and the text in the field will already be highlighted. Copy all of this text to the clipboard or to a text editor (like Notepad).
- Close your Google Form and open your Google Site by clicking "Sites" at the top of the Drive page.
- Click the name of the site you want to embed the form in.
- Navigate to the page within your site that you want to house the form. If you have a one page site, you do not need to navigate anywhere.
- Click the "Edit page" button near the top right of your browser window.
- You will now be able to edit the content of your page. The next step is embedding the code you copied from earlier.
- In the toolbar above your site, click the "HTML" button. (The icon will have a pencil next to the letters HTML).
- Find where in your page you would like to embed your code and paste in the code.
- Click "Update".
- Click the "Save" button near the top-right.
- You should now see what your viewers will see. The form should be embedded.
