IMAP Email settings
For other devices, you can often receive email by supplying standard IMAP information. When configuring your phone or device to receive your email, use the following settings as you need:
In order to set up your email on your mobile device, you must first enable IMAP in your medportal email settings. To do so, follow these steps:
Enabling IMAP in medportal email
- In your email, click "Settings" at the top right
- Click "Forwarding and POP/IMAP"
- Click "Enable IMAP"
- Click "Save Changes"
Email Server Settings
- Username/Email: <Your medportal username>
- Password: <Your medportal password>
- Protocol: IMAP
- Incoming mail server: imap.gmail.com (Requires an SSL connection on port 993)
- Outgoing mail server: smtp.gmail.com (Requires an SSL connection on port 465)
NOTE: Your outgoing mail server will also require authentication, and the username/password for this authentication is identical to your medportal username/password.
If your client does not support SMTP authentication, you won't be able to send mail through your client using your Gmail address.
Also, if you're having trouble sending mail but you've confirmed that encryption is active for SMTP in your mail client, try to configure your SMTP server on a different port: 465 or 587.
That should be all the information your device needs in order to connect to and check your medportal email.
